RECONCILING IN CHRIST

The Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Program is for congregations, synods, colleges, seminaries, and other Lutheran organizations and ministries that have made a public commitment to welcome, include and celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) individuals and their families.

Bethesda Lutheran Church, a congregation of the ELCA, is a reconciling, affirming, and inclusive community. Through worship, love, and service, we recognize that each person is a unique creation of God and through grace, we all belong together as children of God.

We value people of all gender identities, gender expressions, sexual orientation, cognitive and physical abilities, races, nationalities, economic, and immigration statuses. We will advocate for and be steward of all God's creation.

We pledge to live a reconciling people, in our life together, working to be a sign in the community that Jesus Christ is here.

TABLE OF MERCY

This unique outreach program brings a faith component to the homeless and housing insecure community. Designed to provide spiritual care and not proclamation or conversion, this group practices radical hospitality and pastoral care. It offers faith support to anyone who requests and works with local shelters and organizations to provide additional services to our most desperate neighbors.

EASTER EUROPE CRISIS RESPONSE

On February 24th, Russian forces invaded Ukraine, launching land, sea, and air attacks. Airports are now shut down and only a few railways lines are operational. Civilians fleeing the violence are moving towards Ukraine's western districts and neighboring countries of Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia.

Lutheran Disaster Response is accompanying our companions in Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia with ecumenical partners Lutheran World Federation and Church World Service in their humanitarian responses. These partners provide refugees with immediate support and supplies such as food, blankets, water, and hygiene kits.

If you would like to support this efforts, please click on the pdf file to print off a form and mail a check. Your gifts are designated for this crisis and 100% will be used to provide support for the people impacted by the conflict.
