Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about how camp works. If you don’t see your question listed, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to help!

What is "Music Camp"?

During Music Camp, kids will discover the magic of making music together. This is a fun, welcoming environment where kids can explore singing, rhythm, movement, instruments, games, and creative activities. Campers will learn not only musical skills, but also how to listen, work together, encourage one another, and express themselves in new ways.

What kinds of activities will we do?

Each day will include a variety of hands-on musical experiences, including:

  • Singing together as a group

  • Learning rhythm and beat through games and movement

  • Exploring musical instruments

  • Introductory music-reading activities

  • Creative expression through music and art

  • Team-building activities and musical games

  • Preparing songs and performances for our final showcase

Do I need musical experience?

Not at all! You do not need to know how to read music or play an instrument to attend. Whether your child has taken music lessons for years or is just beginning to explore music for the first time, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Do we have to be members of Bethesda to participate?

Absolutely not! Music Camp is open to everyone in the community. We love welcoming new faces and making new friends.

Can I bring a friend?

Definitely! Friends are encouraged to attend together — just make sure each child is registered separately.

What should I bring?

  • A water bottle labeled with your name

  • Comfortable clothes and shoes for moving around and participating

  • A positive attitude and willingness to try new things!

Will there be a performance?

Yes! On the final day of camp (Thursday), campers will present a special program showcasing the music they’ve worked on throughout the week. Family members, friends, and neighbors are all invited to attend and celebrate with us. It’s always one of the most joyful parts of the week!
